CHURCH. SIMPLE.

Everything we do comes from a deep desire to create and nurture relationships of wholeness. Whether that is with God, within our church family, or throughout the communities where we work and live, theHeart is committed to reconciling people to God and each other through Christ's Love. Our approach is simple: Worship God, share life, and love people.

Table
Talks

Do you feel fatigued by the polarity so prevalent in church culture in America?

We feel inspired to bring Christ-followers to the table around this topic, not in an effort to shun the challenging conversations, but to embrace them, together.

We are calling this initiative Table Talks.

Check out what we discussed at our last Table Talk.

Our next Table Talks are upcoming! REGISTER HERE.

WHAT IS THE HEART OF THEHEART?

After an extended period of time when we have asked a lot of questions and sought God's direction, we believe that now we can step boldly into a new and exciting season as a church family. This begins with us spending time reminding ourselves of who we are and what we're here to do.

In the fall, we went to the Scriptures to orient ourselves as a faith family following Jesus together.

Our teaching team spoke to our core values:

Loving.

True.

Called.

Mobile.

Simple.

As well as our guiding statements:

Mission Statement.

Vision Statement.

We believe God is at work here and we invite you into his story with us.

Get a sense of who we are with these core values and guiding statements.

LOVE. SIMPLE.

More than a clever catch phrase on a bumper sticker, this is how we want to boldly live out the redemptive love of Jesus Christ. It's that simple.

Worship with us online every Sunday at 10am.

WHO WE ARE

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, theHeart is a simple church dedicated to the truth and transformation of the Gospel. Since we first started gathering together in 2001, theHeart has attempted to be a safe place for those who feel far from God. All the while, we have always believed that Christ's Love alone is what draws us closer and binds our hearts together.

CHURCH.

WORSHIP GOD

God is the main character in the story. Everything is about Him. He deserves our worship. So much so, that without this as a foundation, everything else we do won't make as much sense.

SHARE LIFE

An entire category of life can be summed up with the word "community". Sharing life is all about loving the people you are with, whether it is family, friends, or a body of believers.

LOVE PEOPLE

Reaching out in love is central to what it means to follow God. As we serve one another, we remove barriers, move closer together, and embrace those who might otherwise go unnoticed.

6 WAYS TO CONNECT AT THEHEART

We believe there is no formula for faith. And yet, we also recognize the importance of participating in consistent and organized efforts in which we can connect with one another in genuine and loving relationships. At theHeart, we provide a half-dozen specific ways for you to connect with people.

SUNDAY GATHERINGS

Every Sunday at 10am we transform Watauga High School into a space for worship. Come be with us as we praise God and learn more about his redemptive and grace-filled love for all of us.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION

Praying%20Hands_edited.jpg

Spiritual Formation Groups—whether they meet digitally or in person—are a meaningful way for people at theHeart to grow in their faith. These small groups of community are committed to genuine connections of acceptance, accountability, care, and action.

LOVE IN ACTION

Website-Serve.jpg

Whether you volunteer on Sundays, participate in our support of local organizations, or discover your own ways to serve others, we want to be known as a church family that puts our love into action.

YOUTH GROUP

Friends in Nature

6th-12th graders gather in a safe space with loving volunteers to engage the Bible and build community. Together we're growing toward God, connecting with one another, and serving in Christ's Love. Simple.

MOBILE CHURCH

We invite you to watch the livestream of our Sunday Gatherings online in your homes with friends and family premiering every Sunday at 10am. Or watch and worship on your own. As you do, be reminded that we are all connected, and God is always with us—wherever we are.

NEWCOMERS COURSE

Compass Pointing North

This multiple-session class is designed to share more about who we are as a church family, where we are going, and what we are doing to get there. If you are interested in learning more about the heart behind theHeart, this is a great opportunity to do just that.
