on. mission.

Has God given you a dream to participate in missions work domestically or globally? theHeart wants to equip, encourage, support, and empower you to pursue the dreams and passions He has placed in your heart.

"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."
–1 Peter 4:10

Missions are a practical way for us to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ as we reach out to assist those who need us most. Whether domestially or globally, theHeart wants to support you in your efforts to participate in these life-changing opportunities. Sometimes that means financially.

Simply tell us about your mission opportunity and some of the specifics as to what you will accomplish during your time on the field. If selected, theHeart will provide you with encouragement, financial support, and the opportunity for you to be featured in theEmail and also make a personal appeal to the entire church.

Please submit your missions opportunity with the details above to us:

What are we looking for?

A mission opportunity that shows the tangible love of Jesus Christ, provides you with the chance to develop real relationships with others, and meets an identified need in the world.

How does this work?

After filling out the application below, a team responsible for the oversight of our missions budget will carefully and prayerfully consider your submission. Due to the high volume of requests received each year by theHeart, we will only be able to respond to those we are able to support.

Do I need to attend theHeart?

Those who consider theHeart their church home will receive first consideration. That being said, there will be situations where individuals associated with other churches and organizations may be considered.

Numerous people from our church family are involved in missions of all kinds, whether that be full-time ministry, global activism, or serving the local community. We also have several missionaries who are involved in short- and long-term opportunities that require them to raise their own support. God is doing a good work in and through them. Learn how you might partner with our missionaries through prayer or financial support.

Cory and Alexandra Keehn

Our story:  Alexandra and I grew up in Kansas. We met in college on the cross country and track team. We got married June of 2014. While we were in our college town of Hays Kansas, God taught us how to share our faith through the platform of athletics and a college ministry through our local church.

Alexandra is finishing up her Math Education degree because God has given her heart to support students through the difficult period of middle school. I knew at some point in my life God would call me into full-time campus ministry. After college, I finished a year of graduate studies in Leadership and competed as a semi-professional runner. I qualified for the USA 2016 Olympic Trials Marathon. Our search for a professional running club led us near to Boone and for whatever reason God highlighted Boone to us. Instead of running professionally, God had other plans. We spent several months praying and seeking wisdom from our mentors. Through our prayers and steps of faith, God confirmed Boone was where we were to serve.

August of 2016, we left everything and moved to Boone. Alexandra is student teaching at Hardin Park and I am a commissioned campus missionary with Cru at Appalachian State University. God has stirred in my heart a fire to engage college men in their community and show them that boldly following the Lord is the adventure that they are desperately searching for. I do not simply want to talk about living a life of faith. I want to model it! It is not uncommon to see me doing discipleship runs with guys or splitting wood for people in the community. Either way, I want to take the posture of a servant leader and demonstrate that faith is an action!

As a campus missionary with Cru, we raise 100% of our monthly support for our ministry and living costs. Would you prayerfully and financially partner with me to disciple students at App State? If you want to learn more, please visit my give page with Cru and

What we hope to raise: $4,750 in monthly support to cover living and campus ministry costs.

Ben and Deanne Wesemann

Our story: We met in South Africa on theHeart's first mission trip in 2012. One of the greatest things that drew us together was our passion for the nations to come into the living reality of our loving Heavenly Father. The Lord spoke to us both and we got married.

We moved from Boone, NC back to South Africa in 2015 to work with Emoyeni Ministries, a small non-profit Deanne's family has ran for over a decade. In our first two years, we faced many harsh realities of life in Africa, culminating with the premature loss of our daughter. Through these struggles, we felt the Lord tell us there is a great harvest waiting if we continue to persevere, so we re-committed through 2020.

After 15 years in the field, Emoyeni is making an intentional shift from primarily addressing the physical needs of the many AIDS orphans and vulnerable children, to restoring the orphan-hearted to their true identity as sons and daughters of God. We see that relationship with our Father as the pivotal key. Although we will continue to provide for the impoverished, we are burning with a lasting vision to see transformation of individuals, communities, and South Africa through discipleship.

Emoyeni is based in eManzana, South Africa on a 50-acre macadamia farm where we live, farm, host volunteers, and work towards becoming a self-sustainable ministry. We minister into the surrounding communities through kids groups and camps, home visits, preaching and teaching, pastor and leadership training, and a school of ministry. We run the ACTS Discipleship Program which brings young adults from America for 3-months to a year to be the hands and feet of Emoyeni Ministries while stepping out in faith and growing in their own personal relationship with Jesus. We also organize and run our Mission Teams and hospitality on the farm.

If you hear your heartbeat here, please consider partnering with us. We need a deep and wide prayer covering.  We would love for you to join us here as a volunteer with a short-term team, internship, or as a full-time missionary. Whether you can travel to South Africa or not, you can partner with us financially. As we help Emoyeni become self-sustaining in the next decade, we still have many similar expenses as you (housing, auto, food, insurances + visas, flights, etc) and your generosity keeps us in the field bringing the Kingdom full-time. We are so grateful for your love and support.
